Compliance requirements.
Understanding What is Required for your Account
At Dinheiro Group, we take our responsibilities to you and to regulators very seriously. Our approach to compliance is designed to protect your interests, maintain the integrity of our systems, and ensure that everything we do meets or exceeds legal and regulatory standards. All of this happens in partnership with Sciopay Ltd., our trusted payment institution, who handles compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), and transaction processing.
The guidelines below outline what is typically asked for when you open an account. However, depending on your situation or the complexity of your business, we might need to request more information or documentation. This is standard practice in financial services and helps us keep everyone safe and secure.
1. For Individuals: What You’ll Need
Modern online tools make the process as smooth as possible. Sometimes, though, we’ll need a little extra from you especially if your situation is more complex or if our checks raise questions.
Here’s what we usually ask for:
A clear copy of a valid Passport or Driving Licence. Sometimes, your driving licence can double as proof of address.
Proof of address. This could be a recent utility bill or bank statement, but it must show your name and address and be dated within the last three months.
Your signature on the Client Terms and Conditions. This is the agreement about how we’ll work together.
2. For Businesses: What We’ll Require
If you’re opening an account for a company, we need to know who’s really in charge. That means we’ll ask for information about everyone with significant ownership (usually anyone with 25% or more of the shares), at least one director, and anyone who can authorise transactions.
Here’s what you can expect to provide:
A copy of each relevant person’s Passport or Driving Licence, just like for individuals.
Proof of address for each person, again, a recent bill or statement is fine.
Your signature on our Corporate Client Terms and Conditions.
Your company’s Certificate of Incorporation or similar founding document.
The Memorandum and Articles of Association or your company’s equivalent rules.
A register of directors and, if relevant, people with significant control (PSC register).
Evidence of who owns the company, such as share certificates or a shareholder register.
Depending on how your business is set up or what you do, we might need more details or documents. This is especially true for companies with complex structures, those in certain industries, or if you use trusts or have international connections.
3. Keeping Things Up to Date
Our job doesn’t stop once your account is open. We’re required to keep checking in, making sure everything we know about you and your business is still accurate. That means we might ask you to confirm or update your details from time to time.
Here’s what that could involve:
Checking your identity and address again every so often.
Letting us know if there are changes to who owns or runs your company.
Providing more information about where your money comes from, especially if your business is complex or operates in a medium to high-risk sector.
Telling us if you change who can authorise transactions or if directors come and go.
4. A Few Important Notes
All compliance, AML, and transaction processing is managed by Sciopay Ltd.
We might need to ask for more information or documents at any time, especially if the law changes or if your situation becomes more complex.
If you can’t provide what we need, we might have to delay opening your account or pause your services.
Everything you give us is treated with the utmost confidentiality, in line with our Privacy Policy.
For businesses with complicated structures or those in medium to high-risk sectors, expect us to ask for more detail about your activities and where your funds come from.
We may also ask about the purpose of your account or business activities, just to make sure we understand what you need from us.
5. Need Help or Have Questions?
If you’re not sure what you need to provide, or if you have any questions about the process, we are always here to help. You can reach us at support@dinheiropayments.com.
